Tuna pasta Casserole

INGREDIENTS Measurements

  For the pasta

2 cans tuna in olive oil
1/2 Kilo pasta, boiled, drained
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, chopped
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
1 cup carrot, diced
2 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon basil, chopped
1 teaspoon thyme, chopped
1/2 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
Salt and pepper

  For the Béchamel

2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
2 cups milk



  • Heat oil in a sautéing pan, add onion, carrots and garlic, stir for few minutes until tender.
  • Add pasta and herbs, season with salt and pepper.
  • Drain tuna and stir into mixture, add lemon juice.
  • Serve pasta topped with freshly grated parmesan cheese.
  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  • Heat butter in a saucepan over a medium heat, add flour and stir for 2 minutes.
  • Add milk gradually to the mixture while continuously whisking (so that chunks will not be formed) till well combined and sauce is thickened.
  • Season béchamel sauce with salt and pepper.
  • Place pasta mixture in a baking dish and top with béchamel sauce and cheese.
  • Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
