Tuna burger

INGREDIENTS Measurements

  For the burger

2 cans tuna in olive oil
2 tablespoons spring onion, chopped
4 tablespoons celery, finely chopped
2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
Salt and pepper
2 tablespoon oil

  For serving

buns, toasted
Tomato, sliced
Red onion, sliced
Pickles, sliced
salad (mesclun mix)
Cherry tomatoes
Ketchup and mayonnaise for dressing



  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
  • Drain tuna from excess oil, place in a bowl, and break it up with a fork.
  • Add chopped vegetables, egg, breadcrumbs and mayonnaise, season with salt and pepper.
  • Take a handful of mixture forming patties.
  • Heat olive oil in a sautéing pan over a medium high heat.
  • Cook patties for about 3minutes each side, place in the oven for about 7 more minutes.
  • Place sliced tomato on the bottom half of each bun, then sliced onion and pickles.
  • Add patties and a few salad leaves, cover with top bun and serve.
  • Mix ketchup and mayonnaise in a bowl, add few drops of lemon juice and season with salt and pepper.
  • Place mesclun mix in a bowl with few cherry tomatoes, top with tuna burger and dressing.
