INGREDIENTS Measurements

  

1/4 Salep is a starchy powder from dried Orchid tubers, that is commonly used to make milk and sugar drink as well as pudding.
1 cup water
2 cups milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup coarsely chopped pistachios
1 teaspoon rose water
2 tablespoons Sugar Syrup
Rose petal jam, for garnish

METHOD

  

  • Blend salep powder into 2 tablespoons of the water.
  • In a heavy saucepan over medium heat, combine remaining water and milk. Bring to a boil. Add salep mixture and sugar. Reduce heat and let simmer, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Let cool for awhile.
  • Meanwhile, mix pistachios, rose water, and syrup in large bowl.
  • Layer pistachio mixture alternatively with pistachio mixture to fill serving glasses.
  • Garnish with rose petal jam. Serve warm or chilled.
