INGREDIENTS Measurements

  Dough

1/2 tablespoon yeast
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1 1/3 cup warm water
2 teaspoon salt
3 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon olive oil

  Sauce

2 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, finely minced
4 cups crushed tomatoes
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
salt and pepper to taste

  Topping

2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 green pepper, sliced
1 red pepper, sliced
1 medium onion, sliced
1/2 cup salami chunks

METHOD

  Dough

  • Dissolve yeast and sugar in half the warm water, let stand for 10 minutes
  • Mix flour and salt with an electric mixer on a medium speed
  • Add yeast, oil and remaining water gradually
  • Combine mixture until soft dough is achieved
  • Flip dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead until soft and elastic.
  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover and let it rise for about two hours or until doubled in size.
  • Punch dough and flip on a floured surface.
  • Divide dough into 2 equal parts; roll each part into a circle.
  • Place dough on a lightly greased baking sheet.
  • Cover and let stand for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 220 degree Celsius.

  Sauce

  • Heat oil in a pan over a medium high heat, add onion, garlic and stir till translucent.
  • Add tomato and paste, season with herbs salt, pepper, and sugar.
  • Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10 to15 minutes till sauce thickened.

  Pizza

  • Spread some tomato sauce evenly over the dough beginning from the middle spreading to the outer crust.
  • Sprinkle half of the cheese evenly over the pizza.
  • Place the vegetables and salami over the pizza.
  • Sprinkle remaining cheese over the pizza after placing the toppings.
  • Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
