Method

- Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water.
- Combine flour, salt; add yeast and oil in an electrical mixer on a low speed.
- Add water gradually; knead on a medium speed for 10 minutes, until the dough becomes soft.
- Form the dough into a ball and place in a greased bowl. Cover the dough and let rise in a warm place for an hour or until double in size.
- Mix sausages with the cheese, onion and thyme.
- Cut the dough into handful size pieces and roll out each piece on a lightly floured dusted surface into a circular shape.
- Spoon a serving of the sausage mixture and fold over the dough to make a half-circle. Pinch the edges of the dough together, and prick the edges of the dough with a fork.
- Make holes on the top of dough using a fork.
- Sprinkle flour on an oven tray, shake and get rid of excess flour.
- Place dough on prepared oven tray and cover for about an hour till doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Brush dough surface with egg wash.
- Bake for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool and slice into half, can be served with green salad.

 

Ingredients

1 tablespoon dry yeast
1 1/4 cups warm water
3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 egg+ 2 tablespoons milk for brushing

Filling
1 cup cheddar cheese, cubed
1/4 kilo sausages, thin strips
1 medium onion, chopped
Fresh thyme or parsley
